Captivated by the allure of Miyako Island, Mariko Mori dedicated five years to observing the land and with the 3D modeling support of Laura Micalizzi and Stuart Huggan, she has developed the natural shape for the home. Inspired by its mild weather, white-sand beaches, and vibrant coral reefs, Mori then collaborated with Ring Architects to construct a harmonious house that blends seamlessly with the island's natural beauty.

Interior Design of Yuputira House

The Work

While in London, Laura Micalizzi has collaborated with Mariko Mori on several projects. Specifically, for Yuputira House, she has provided continuous assistance to the artist throughout the entire process. This includes utilizing 3D modeling techniques to develop the shape of the house based on Mariko's clay study models, conducting location studies from surveys of the land, and contributing to the design of the interior spaces. Laura has been involved in the initial stages of the architectural project, then, in the following stages with architect Stuart Huggan. Subsequently, the construction and final delivery of the project were overseen by Ring Architects in Tokyo.
